Delmer R. Hickman
An ATV Benefit Poker Run was held on August 14, 2004 in memory of Delmer R. Hickman with 131 registered participants. It began at Nobe and extended into surrounding areas of Gilmer County for a total of 37.5 miles.
Cash winnings went to Joy Riddle of Big Bend, WV - 1st. place, Charles (Bucky) Bell of Grantsville, WV - 2nd. Place and Janet Walker of Five Forks, WV - 3rd. place. The 50/50 drawing was won by Patty Sampson of Grantsville, WV.
Sincere thanks are extended to Joe Miller and Junior Swisher for all their work and the time involved in planning the poker run and especially for the T-Shirts (Gone But Not Forgotten) designed in memory of Delmer.
Thank you to Larry and Sue Swisher and family for use of their land and facilities and donation of food and work.
Thanks to the businesses who donated hot dogs, buns, pop, ice and other items and to the volunteers who helped in various ways, young and old alike!
