Hubert Franklin Criner, 76, of Spencer, died Saturday, August 28, 2004, in the Roane General Hospital, Spencer.
He was born March 14, 1928, at Cabin Creek, a son of the late Ira and Mary Hivley Criner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma; a brother, Ray Criner; two sisters, Juanita and Madge.
Mr. Criner was a retired employee of the WVDOH and attended the Crusade for Jesus.
Survivors include a son, Timothy F. Criner of Spencer; six daughters, Valerie McCumbers of Glenville, Regina Wolfe of Walton, Marjorie Waggoner, Melody Blosser, Wanda Smith and Catherine Carpenter all of Spencer; two brothers, Don Jett of Uniontown, Oh and Bobby Criner of Clendenin; three sisters, May Canterbury and Kay Boggs both of Clendenin and Bernice Armstead; 27 grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, September 1 at 1:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Hillard Bryant and the Rev. Jim McIntyre officiating. Burial will be in the Keith Wolfe Cemetery, Walton.
Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before the service on Wednesday.
