Calhoun County 4-H Project Exhibits were held on Saturday at the Ox Roast at Mt. Zion.
Members in grades 3-12 are encouraged to complete at least one 4-H project each year and exhibit the results.
Best of Show purple ribbon was awarded to Sarah Postalwait, Self Determined-Rag Quilt. The Rag Quilt she made with the help of her step-mother, Jody Postalwait also won first place at the State Fair. Sarah is a member of the Arnoldsburg Eagles 4-H Club.
Blue ribbons were awarded to Pleasant Hill Community Clover member, Danielle Kendall, This is 4-H; Mt. Zion Cardinals member, Maria Kisner, Horsing Around and Teen Leader, Hannah Conley, Self Determined-Crochet. Rick Allen won a Blue Ribbon for his Scrapbook for the West Fork Mountaineer Club.
Red ribbons were awarded to Grantsville Guppies member, Amber Beall-Self-Determined-Video Picture album; Mt. Zion Cardinals members, Elizabeth Duskey, Canine Connection and Purr-fect Pals (two ribbons); Maria Kisner, Scratching the Surface, and Samantha Wilson, Adventures with your Camera-A and West Fork Mountaineers member, Jake Jett, Bite Into Beef.
White ribbons were awarded to Mt. Zion Cardinal member, Anna Sampson, Purr-fect Pals; West Fork Mountaineers members, Jake Jett, Purr-fect Pals and Ashley Conley, Canine Connection and Member at Large, Whitney Johnson, Self-Determined-Volunteering.
Judges were 4-H club leaders Diana Bailey, Nancy Bremar, Sandy McCumbers, David Weaver, Heather Weaver and Phil Perkins. |
