The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a Flood
Watch effective until 5 a.m. EDT Monday morning.
The watch includes
the following areas:
Calhoun, Braxton, Clay, Gilmer, Ritchie, Roane and Wirt Counties.
Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop across
southeast Ohio, northeast Kentucky and western West Virginia this
afternoon into this evening.
Abundant atmospheric moisture combined
with instability and an approaching cold front could produce very
heavy rainfall in amounts of 2 inches per hour.
Heavy rains may tend to fall over the same areas and in areas which
have already received moderate rainfall over the past few days.
A Flood Watch means that conditions are favorable for heavy rain
across the watch area ... which may lead to flooding along area rivers.
