(08/21/2004)
A former Roane County man, Russell Davis, 45 (pictured left), is being held in North Central Regional Jail, following his arrest on drug charges at Creston, Wirt County.

Davis was charged with possession of cocaine and marijuana with intent to deliver and two counts of conspiracy. He remains in South Central Regional Jail.

A female identified as Barbara McCaffrey, 20, of South Point, Ohio was charged with possession of less than 15 grams.

Two other men were arrested, Robert "Slim" Henderson, 27 (pictured left), and John Whiteside, 30, whose origins are reportedly out-of-state. Whiteside has been released on bond.

Officials reportedly found large quantities of powder cocaine, crack cocaine and marijuana in a mobile home Davis was renting, a short distance west of Creston along State Route 5. State Police found a stolen gun in the trailer among several weapons.

Police have indicated the arrests are linked to drug trafficking in the region.

Russell Davis gave testimony in the Judd Reid murder case in Roane County, because he was dating Reid's daughter at the time.

Davis testified in the case in which Tariff resident Tattoo Vince Golosow was found guilty and sent to prison.

Richard Cummings and his girlfriend Sandra Khalaf, currently involved in shoot-outs on Murder Mountain in Clay County, were also key witnesses in the murder case.
