Elmer Cottrell, 96, of Arnoldsburg, West Virginia, passed away, August 11, 2004 at Roane General Hospital, Spencer.
Born in Clay County, he was a son of the late Silas and Sarah Hunt Cottrell. He was a former timber cutter and farmer. He had lived in Pennsylvania and Ohio for several years and later returned to West Virginia. He was an avid fox and rabbit hunter.
Surviving are sons, Dean Cottrell of Grantsville, Ohio, Grant Cottrell of Mentor, Ohio and Richard Cottrell of Arnoldsburg; a daughter, Sharon Lowther of Paris, Ohio and a step daughter, Carol Jones of Arnoldsburg; several grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren, step great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and step great great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah King Cottrell; daughter, Barbara Turner; brothers, George and Samuel Cottrell; and sisters, Dora, Clara, Cora and Elsie.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Stump Funeral Home. Arnoldsburg. Rev. Rick Metheney and Rev. Roger Carter will officiate. Interment will be in the King Cemetery at Nicut.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. |
