Progress on the Wayne Underwood Museum is slowly moving, according to
alumni Ox Johnson.
The building project is expected to become a permanent addition to the
Calhoun Middle-High School athletic complex. It will be located next to the
press box.
Johnson reports donations to date total slightly over $5000.
"We are still anticipating donations from former players, students, associates,
businesses or friends of Underwood," said Johnson.
Part of the museum is thirty-six enclosed box seats on the second floor, which
will be rented and the funds used for athletic department expenses and to help
the athletic programs.
During the recent Alumni Day at the school, several offers of memorabilia from
the Underwood years were made for inclusion in the museum, said
Johnson.
Johnson said the hallway wall space in CM/HS is becoming limited, and a
suggestion has been made to place those pictures from the Underwood years
in the new building.
All donations are tax deductible.
