Don Maloney Sr., 87, of Vienna went to be with his Lord on Aug. 2, 2004, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 6, 1917, in Calhoun County, W.Va., a son of the late Charles E. and Linna Dell Norman Maloney. He retired from Union Carbide Corporation and had previously worked for the American Viscose Co. Don was a member of Beechwood Presbyterian Church and Odd Fellows Lodge of Parkersburg.
He was a loving father to his son, Don Maloney Jr. and his wife, Sharon Sue, of Parkersburg; his daughters, Shirleyan Brown and her husband, Dave, of N. Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Patricia Fordyce and her husband, James A., of Parkersburg. He wasproud of his six grandchildren, Don Maloney III and his wife, Julia, of Parkersburg, Chad Maloney and Bridgett Queen of Parkersburg, Carrie Dawn Stair and her husband, Eric, of N. Myrtle Beach, James L. Fordyce and his wife, Amy, John E. Fordyce and his wife, Tammy, and Christopher S. Fordyce and his wife, Kimberly, all of Parkersburg; nine great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Imogene Knight and Regina Ellyson, both of Parkersburg, Naomi Champ and Olive Francis, both of Akron, Ohio, and Donna Rae Reiner of Hamilton, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 65 years, Goldie Maloney, on May 6, 2004; an infant grandson; two brothers; and two sisters.
Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with the Rev. John Koerner officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
