Six Calhoun County girls attended Alpha II 4-H State Camp at Jackson's Mill last week, July 18-23. More than 330 teenagers attended State Camp to help them better understand themselves, and to display more personal confidence when assuming leadership positions.
Elizabeth Duskey, Maria Kisner, Arla Lane, Sarah Postalwait, Anna Sampson, and Dana Thomas represented Calhoun 4-H.
The best part of camp for Sarah Postalwait was Council Circle. When asked if she would go back next year? She replied yes.
Maria Kisner best part of camp was everything. She can't wait to go back next year.
West Virginia 4-H members entering 6th grade are recommended by the county extension office to go to State Camp.
The local extension service continues an open invitation for kids to become 4-H members, in addition to seeking volunteer leaders or others who want to make contributions to 4-H in Calhoun County. For information, contact the Extension Office 354-6332.
