GUNFIRE ALL OVER THE PLACE - Charleston Police are searching for two black men who fled authorities after the white Mercedes they were in crashed on the West Side Saturday.

A black male punched Diablo Brown, 33, in the face outside of George's Lounge. A suspect then went to a nearby car, grabbed a handgun and fired six or seven rounds at Brown.

Everyone fled the lounge after shots went through the building.

Later, Brown was at a different location when two black men in the Mercedes pulled up. The driver pulled out a handgun and fired several rounds directly at Brown.

The suspects later turned onto Poplar Avenue and crashed the Mercedes at the end of the dead-end street. They fled the scene.

MAN SHOT WHILE IN CAR, MORE GUNFIRE - A Charleston man drove himself to St. Francis Hospital Sunday afternoon after being shot while sitting in his car on Charleston's West Side. Roy Payne, 35, was shot in the left arm.

Payne told police a man came up to his car and told Payne that the man had left drugs in Payne's car. When Payne said there were no drugs in the car, the man shot Payne in the arm.

Police received reports of gunshots fired in the area after the incident, apparently unrelated to the Payne shooting.

Anton Courts, 23, and Donald Courts, 26, both of Charleston, were arrested last night in Charleston. Thirty rounds had been fired into parked cars and buildings, including a Rite Aid.

VIDEO CAM STAR - Charleston police were looking for a Hurricane man Sunday who they believe robbed Mimi's Restaurant at gunpoint off Corridor G early Friday morning.
