An auto slid off rain-slick Route 16 near the Mt. Zion Post Office yesterday
afternoon, striking a large stump along the highway.
The driver, Clara Husk, 39, and a six-year-old daughter
were taken to Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center by Calhoun EMS for
what appeared to be minor injuries. Another eight-year-old daughter was taken by private vehicle for evaluation.
They were returning home from the Energy Express program at Calhoun Middle/High School.
The driver and children were restrained by seat belts. They were all released from MHHCC, according to a close family member.
The Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department
responded to the accident.
