Forty-four members of the Calhoun County High School class of 1954 met on the afternoon of July 3, 2004 at Calhoun County Committee on Aging in Grantsville to celebrate their fiftieth reunion.
In keeping with the theme of their reunion, "Remembrance of Things Past" each class member received a memory book containing individual recollections of their school days. Deceased class members were remembered with a special display. Everyone enjoyed looking at yearbooks, the school newspaper, and photo albums. Earlier in the day the group attended the seventeenth All-Alumni Banquet at Calhoun County High School.
Calhoun residents attending were Burl Nichols, Billy Joe Yoak, Elah
Hartshorn Gainer Roberts, Marvin Stemple, Coleman Burrows, Carolyn
Hayhurst Collins, and Evelyn Yoak McCormick.
Attending from Wood County were Michael Ferrell, Dorsey Starcher,
Carroll Slider, Emma Starcher Thorn, Grace Heiney Wilson, William Woody, Helen McCumbers Hale, Lois Riddle Johnson, Jerome Reed, and Arlos D. Smith.
Attending from other West Virginia locations were Richard McKown,
Jackson County; Thurman Radabaugh, Harrison County; Naomi Scott Hinzman and Lyla Stump Sharp, Gilmer County; Joseph Kimble, Putnam County; David Kirby, Kanawha County; Robert Williams, Doddridge County; and Walter Kerby, Wirt County.
