Calhoun's Local Emergency Planning Committee met last night to submit a
"Calhoun County Emergency Operations Plan" to the Calhoun Commission for
approval.
The Commission is expected to approve the plan at their next meeting.
The plan defines disaster preparedness activities for the county and
establishes operational responsibilities and prescribes actions to be taken
during man-made or natural disasters.
Members of the LEPC committee, which was chaired by Bill Ellis, will advise
the county OES Director Bill Stemple to appoint a LEPC Disaster
Coordinator.
An OES disaster service tent will be kept at Minnie Hamilton Health Care
Center for use during disaster situations.
The LEPC consists of representatives of county emergency services, law
enforcement, health care providers and elected officials.
