| Gerald Russell Ball, died July 2, 2004 after a long battle with cancer.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 23 years, Shirley Ball. He was the loving Dad "Big Dad," of Margaret (Bill) Hildreth , James (Rose) Ball, Debbie Brymer, Georgia Kasse, Melissa Ball, and step children, Scott Long, Sandy (Paul) McColligan, Steve Long (John Ortman).
Mr. Ball was the admired grandfather of 27 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, French Stump; sisters, Florence Meadows, Geraldine (Dewitt) Hupp and Virginia (Nelson) Bland; mother-in-law, Ellen Corley; his uncle Arley Ward; and devoted friend, Nub Marks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Georgia Stump and James Wesley Ball, and a son, Gerald Russell Ball, Jr.
He was a veteran of the US Army (1947-49.) He was the co-founder and vice president of Telecon Inc. and Dynacast of Streetsboro, Ohio. He retired from Johnson & Johnson in 1986.
The Ball family would like to thank everyone for their continued support and prayers over the last year. Gerry will be remembered by all who knew him.
Friends may pay their respects Tuesday, July 6 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, WV. Friends may also call 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, with funeral services following immediately after. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Grantsville.
