The roof was caving in on a two-story house off Sinking Springs Road when the
Arnoldsburg Volunteer Fire Department arrived yesterday.
The dwelling, owned and occupied by the Donald Simmons family, was a total
loss.
No one was present when the fire broke out shortly before noon, according to
Fire Chief Fred Waybright.
Waybright said the State Fire Marshal's Office has been asked to investigate
the cause of the fire.
The Upper West Fork VFD and the Grantsville VFD also responded to the blaze
up Simmons Hollow.
A mobile home belonging to Simmons on the same site was destroyed by a fire
in February, 2001.
