Rural Development funds will be used to construct a regional water treatment plant to serve approximately 721 users in the communities of Clay and Maysel. The plant will also provide water to two public service districts that serve over 600 users and wish to expand distribution to as many more.

"This is part of a total funding package of $3,000,000 for this project, clearly demonstrating Rural Development's commitment to the future of rural communities," stated Phillips.

USDA Rural Development serves as the lead Federal entity for rural development needs and administers program assistance through its rural housing programs, rural business programs, and rural utilities programs.
