POCAHONTAS NEIGHBOR KILLED IN LAND DISPUTE - A land dispute between two Pocahontas County neighbors ended with one being shot to death in Green Bank.

State Police say Ray Hiner Taylor, in his 50s, was shot and killed Tuesday. His neighbor, Samuel Taylor, has been charged with first-degree murder.

Samuel turned himself in to State Police in Elkins.

CHARLESTON MAN STABBED ON WEST SIDE

Charleston police are looking for a man they believe stabbed an acquaintance inside a West Side bar during the early morning hours last week.

Dennis Davis, 28, of Charleston, is recovering at CAMC General Hospital.

Davis and an acquaintance were near the pool tables inside the Trax bar on West Washington Street, when Davis was stabbed, said Charleston Police.

Davis was found lying on a sidewalk outside the bar with stab wounds in the chest and side.

MAN CHARGED IN RALEIGH COUNTY DEATH

Police arrested a man last Saturday as part of their investigation into a Beckley woman's death.

According to the Raleigh County Sheriff's Department, Dallas Hughes, 20, of Beckley is in jail charged with homicide of a women killed in Beckley West Apartments.

MARTINSBURG MAN STABBED IN HATE CRIME

Police say the stabbing of a black man during an argument with a white man in Martinsburg was a hate crime.

Twenty-six-year-old William Kelly Curtin was arrested Saturday and charged with malicious wounding and civil rights violations, both felonies.

Police say victim Timico Johnson was about a block away from his home when Curtin allegedly called him a racial epithet and they began arguing.

Witness Ronnie Lane saw the alleged stabbing, then tackled Curtin.

Court records indicate that while on the ground Lane saw Curtin throw a knife into some nearby bushes.

Curtin faces up to ten years in prison and a fine of up to five thousand dollars on the civil rights charge and up to ten years in prison on the malicious wounding charge.
