Former state Senator Randy Schoonover spent 29 hours in the woods of Clay County, trapped under an all-terrain
vehicle.
The incident nearly took his life.
Schoonover was riding his ATV on May 15th when the 800-pound machine flipped and landed on his chest. It slid
down on his arm, cutting off circulation. His arm had to be amputated.
Schoonover says after several hours had passed, he started praying that he would die.
Schoonover says he now believes in miracles and is happy to be alive.
He was just released from the hospital and will soon get a prosthetic to replace his arm.
