GRANTSVILLE MAN FACING DRUG CHARGES - Starkey Being Held In CRJ

(06/08/2004)
A Grantsville resident has been arrested and arraigned on charges related to the possession of a controlled substance. David Scott Starkey, 28 (pictured left), is being held in Central Regional Jail, although he is expected to be released on $5,000 bond.

Grantsville Police Chief Ron Gordon obtained a search warrant for Starkey's mobile home on Pell Street, where Gordon and members of the State Police reportedly found prescription drugs that did not belong to him and a small amount of marijuana, less than 15 grams.

Starkey is facing a $1000 fine and 90 days to six months in jail, according to court records.

He will appear before a Calhoun magistrate on June 11th at 10 a.m.

Starkey was charged last March for breaking and entering and conspiracy by Grantsville Police Chief Ron Gordon. Starkey allegedly broke into Johnson' Tire on River Street and took money from a cash register.
