Calhoun Middle-High School's Library/Media Center applied for and received a $5000 grant from the Laura Bush Foundation For America's Libraries.
The foundation announced the 136 recipients of over $660,000 in grants on May 10. The announcement was made from one of the schools, PS 92Q Harry T. Stewart, Sr. Elementary School, Corona, NY. Awardees were selected from more than 1200 applications in 46 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. Virgin Islands. The awards are based primarily on need and schools will use the funds to create or expand their book collections.
Calhoun Middle High School was the only West Virginia school to receive the grant, this year.
