| John Davis Jr., 86, of Big Bend, Calhoun County, passed away May 5, 2004, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Clarksburg.
Born in Calhoun County, August 9, 1917, he was a son of the late John and Sarah Husk Davis. He was a retired mechanic and was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Davis; a son, Alvin Ray Davis of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; a foster daughter, Joyce Hicks of Grantsville, West Virginia; one brother, Elkins Davis of Big Bend; six grandchildren, Denny (Mindy) Davis of Richwood, WV, April Davis of Manassas, VA, Angel (Rusty) Pettit of Birch River, WV, Lisa Davis of Eau Claire, Tim Hicks and Tyler Hicks of Grantsville.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Isaac, Okey, Hollie, Eddie and Ruben Davis.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 8 at Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville. Pastor Ralph Keener will officiate. Interment will be in the Hunt Cemetery at Big Bend. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 7 at the funeral home.
