Grantsville's Scout Troop 39 took a lazy, warm spring float down the Little Kanawha River, putting canoes in the water a few miles above Grantsville and going down river to Cabot Station.

There are days when there is no river more beautiful than the Little Kanawha. Yesterday, was one of those days, with the new growth on the trees and hundreds of flowering plants.

"We've been doing short and long canoe trips for years," said scoutmaster Richard Kirby, who was assisted by other scout leaders.
