DuPont is cutting 3,500 jobs, an elimination of six percent of its workforce
company-wide. It includes 92 jobs in West Virginia.
Plant manager Rick Hodge at DuPont's plant in Belle says that facility will cut 70
positions, with 22 cuts at the Parkersburg plant.
Employees will be notified of their status by the end of the month.
DuPont's worldwide workforce at the end of last year was 81,000.
Meanwhile, Toyota Motor Manufacturing-West Virginia is planning an 80
million-dollar expansion of its Putnam County engine plant that is expected to
create 50 jobs.
