Oral Nichols, 82, of Bramblewood Village, Grantsville, passed away March 31 at
St. Joseph Hospital.

Born at Leatherbark, he was the son of the late Perry and Vena Waggoner
Nichols. He was a US Army veteran of World War II and a former owner of the
Grantsville Garage.
He was a well-known outdoorsman and gospel singer and was a member of the
Calhoun County Singers. He attended the Enon Baptist Church of Grantsville.
Surviving, his wife of 60 years, Lucy Nichols; daughters, Gloria Kendall Doris
Reaser, Shelia Meadows, Charlotte McDonald and Annetta Perry; sons, Larry,
Millard and Garland; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 pm at the Stump Funeral Home in
Grantsville with the Rev. Harry Sears officiating. Burial will be in the Egypt Ridge
Cemetery in Roane County. Visitation 6-8 pm Saturday.
