EARLY VOTING RULES ISSUED BY CLERK

Voting information for the statewide primary election on Tuesday May 11, 2004 has been issued by Richard Kirby, Calhoun County Clerk.

Absentee voting by mail will begin March 30 and applications will be received until May 5, 2004.

Early voting in person will begin April 21st during regular business hours at the County Clerk's Office and Saturday May 1st 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and ending Saturday at 5 p.m. on May 8.

There will be no early voting on Monday May 10th

For absentee voting by mail, contact the Clerk's Office for an application or down load one from the Secretary of State's Web Site and complete, then submit to the Clerk.

Some reasons to vote by mail are, personal or business travel, illness, injury (doctors name required), physical disability, incarceration, uniformed services member or spouse or dependent, employment, college student.

Early voting in person, can be done by anyone without any excuse as a means to allow voters a better opportunity to vote.
