Three men accused of stealing $100,000 in cash from Powerball winner Jack Whittaker's car were
placed in jail yesterday.
Brian Christopher Hillabold, David Michael Fewell and Vernon Ray Jackson Jr., all 20 years old, have
been charged.
Hillabold and Fewell said that Jackson allegedly took the money in the January 17 break-in at Whittaker's
Putnam County home.
Hillabold of Scott Depot and Fewell of Winfield also face charges in other robberies at schools and three
churches.
Whittaker won the largest single jackpot in history, a Powerball prize of nearly $315 million.
Since then, money has been stolen from his vehicle three times and his business has been robbed once.
In August 2003, Whittaker was at Cross Lanes strip club and more than $500,000 dollars was taken from
his Lincoln Navigator. The money was later recovered and two club employees were arrested.
At least $85,000 was stolen from his sport utility vehicle two days after his business was robbed.
Two more female employees at Tri-State Race Track & Gaming Center have filed civil suits against
Whittaker for "assaulting" them last year.
One woman claims Whittaker snapped her bra strap while he and a female friend gambled in the "High
Roller Room." The other woman alleges he grabbed her hair, pulled her head back and grabbed her
backside.
In an earlier suit, a floor attendant alleges he forced her head toward his crotch while he gambled at the
track.
