After going through the TV re-creation of the "Hillbillies," which would feature some real common mountain folk transplanted in Hollywood, now comes the Abercrombie and Fitch T-shirt featuring West Virginia.
Governor Wise says it isn't the kind of T-shirt that would shed a favorable light.
Wise has sent a letter to Abercrombie and Fitch demanding that the clothing retailer immediately dump a T-shirt that spoofs the state with the slogan - "It's All Relative in West Virginia." (Yours for $22.50 plus shipping)
Wise says it has "an unfounded, negative stereotype of West Virginia."
Wise wants the company to remove the shirt from stores and catalogues.
A spokesperson for Abercrombie and Fitch says the T-shirt has been selling well.
The store said the company that makes the T-shirt in New Albany, Ohio loves and honors West Virginia and the other states.
West Virginia isn't the only state spoofed on an Abercrombie and Fitch T-shirt.
