Thirteen-year-old Zach Wease is home with his father, Dana Wease at Five Forks,
after being found Thursday near the residence of his mother Jeanne "Tennessee"
Rogers on Meadow Run, a short distance from Minnora and State Route 16.
His mother's residence is about 40 miles from where young Wease lives with his
father.
Wease had disappeared from his home during the early morning hours of
Tuesday, after which the police, community members and his family launched a
search.
His mother reportedly had her attorney call his father's attorney, John Oshoway
of Grantsville, to advise him she knew his whereabouts, reportedly saying he had
been in a wooded area near her residence.
Wease was wearing a light jacket and had a flashlight.
Chief Deputy Sheriff Carl Ballengee, who was leading the search, picked up the
youth and took him to Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center for evaluation.
Family members said he is in good health.
Calhoun Prosecuting Attorney Matt Minney said no charges have been brought
against the mother since she was not "actively harboring him."
Authorities are still investigating the case.
Young Wease's grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. Donzel Wease of Pine Creek, said it
has been a relief to find their grandson. "He's a great kid and we've always been
proud of him," they said.
The Wease family expressed their appreciation yesterday to the community for
their help and support during the past few days.
