Missing - Zach Wease, who is 5' 7" tall, weighs 130 pounds, has short brown hair and brown eyes. He is wearing braces on his teeth

A 13-year-old Five Forks boy is missing from his home on Road Run, a short distance from State Route 16.

Chief Deputy Sheriff Carl Ballengee said Zachary Allan Wease left his residence sometime between 2 and 3 a.m. Tuesday morning, his whereabouts unknown.

"He was not in his bed when his dad went to awaken him for school," said Ballengee. Police have been searching the wooded area near the Wease residence and questioning friends of the youth to try and get some leads.

Dana Wease, a local building contractor, said "We are in deep distress over his absence."

Ballengee said the area will be further searched today.

Zach has a younger brother named Seth, who is unaware what might have happened with his disappearance.

Zach is a 7th grade student at Calhoun Middle School at Mt. Zion, and has been active in the county's youth football program.

Deputy Ballengee said a missing persons report has been filed with the National Criminal Information Center.

A neighbor of the Wease family told the Sheriff's Department they thought they heard a knock on their door during the early morning hours, but no one was present.

Deputy Ballengee said he is hopeful the youth will be found soon, and has not fallen victim to an accident in the heavily wooded area.

The youth is familiar with the area and is an active outdoors person.

If anyone has any information regarding the youth, they should call the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department or Calhoun 911.
