The second class in the Lights On! "Alternative Paths to Wellness" series will be Stress Management and Relaxation by Norma Randall-Myers on Saturday, February 14 from 9 am till noon at Arnoldsburg Elementary School. Norma is an educator and healer who specializes in the fields of language and communication. Her teaching career spans more than 20 years, in settings ranging from public schools to organic farming conferences to private classes, working with folks of all ages. Myers holds a Master of Education degree in Bilingual Education and English as a second language from the University of Massachusetts, and is a certified practitioner of hypnosis and neurolinguistic programming.

In this workshop you will learn about the history, concepts and mechanics of hypnosis and neurolinguistic programming, as well as the myths and misconceptions about hypnosis. Attendees will also learn that self-hypnosis is the way we talk to ourselves.

So don't worry! Be happy! Experience deep relaxation as you let go of the stresses of daily life. Identify some of the attitudes and habits that contribute to stress in your life and affect your ability to handle stressful situations. Come and learn some simple but powerful techniques that will allow a greater sense of peace and well being to flow through your life.

Participants should wear loose, comfortable clothing, bring a small cushion or pillow and something to lie on, such as a towel or mat. Anyone wishing to attend must call the Lights On! Office at 354-7595 to reserve a seat. The YOGA for Maximum Wellness class that was postponed on 2/7/04 will be rescheduled in March.
