Oris V. Starcher, age 72 died Saturday, January 31, 2004 at Lake West Hospital in Willoughby.
Born February 5, 1931 at Leatherbark, Calhoun County, West Virginia he lived in Painesville the past three years, formerly of Alliance, Ohio.
He was retired from Fisher Body Company in Lordstown where he was a tool & die maker for 33 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and his family. He was a member of the Willoughby Masonic Lodge where he was past Patron.
He is survived by his wife of 4 years, Martha June Blanken Starcher; nephew, Dale Starcher; great nieces and nephews, Sharon Shaw, Steve and Ronnie Starcher; step-daughter, Saundra Smith; step-son, John Smith; step-grandchildren, Amanda and Shelby Smith, Justin, Angela and Jessee Houghton, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his former wife, Evelyn Elkins Starcher; brothers, Kessler, Chester, Dale and Adam Starcher; sisters, Zell Criss and Chessie Jenich.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, Ohio, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday. Interment will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Liberty Hill Cemetery, Calhoun County, WV.
