Mary Jane (Skip) McDonald, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2004 at home in the company of loved ones. She will be remembered by her family as the dedicated daughter of the late Charles and Laura Boldin, the devoted wife of Dan, the caring mother of sons, Kenny, who preceded her in death, Gary and Ron and daughter, Laura, and the proud grandmother of Donna, Amber, Crystal, Michael, Jack and Jesse.
In 1987, Dan, a native of Calhoun County, retired from corporate life. He and Skip, a native of Northern Virginia, then arranged for their move from Virginia back to Calhoun. Skip felt the welcome of the community, which she grew to love. Skip felt so happy to live in such a loving community that she became involved in many activities. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center, in which she served a term as Secretary. She was a member of the Family Resource Network, and at one time was one of the Delegates from Calhoun County to the Mid Ohio Valley Regional Health Department Committee. She was lovingly referred to by the nurses at Minnie Hamilton as the Cookie Lady.
A viewing is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2004 at Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2004 at the funeral home.
Skip was aware as she passed that she was loved by many in the community she so dearly loved. In one of her requests, she stated that she wished to be remembered but not mourned, and that in lieu of flowers she would like donations made to:
House Calls Home Health & Hospice

The family thanks and is grateful to so many for giving Skip so many years of happiness and love. She loved you all. |
