Kevin Postalwait, Ritchie County's assistant prosecutor and Grantsville's town
attorney, has filed for Roane County Prosecutor.
Postalwait, a Democrat, will be opposing current Roane prosecutor Mark
Sergeant in the May primary.
Postalwait (left) is a a member of the West Virginia Bar, a graduate of
WVU College of Law and Marietta College with a degree in English. He was
graduated from Calhoun County High School in 1994.
He was formerly employed with Curnutte Law Office in Elkins, which mainly
focused on family law and other litigation, having worked earlier at the Legal
Clinic at WVU with attorney Scott Curnutte.
He was a Public Defender for the 5th Judicial Circuit representing indigent
criminal defendants, and was formerly employed at the WVU Trademark
Licensing Service. He was also an intern for State Treasurer John Perdue.
Postalwait has also established a law practice in Grantsville and describes
himself as an avid fisherman in his spare time.
Postalwait is the son of Richard Burl Postalwait of Grantsville. His brother, Rick
"Bubba" Postalwait is a Calhoun magistrate.
