| William R. Barnes, 79, of Parkersburg passed away Jan. 14, 2004, at the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Grantsville, a son of the late Edgar and Elma Barr Barnes. He was a graduate of Calhoun County High School, a U.S. Army veteran and was retired from A.B. Chance - Emerson Electric Co., Parkersburg.
He is survived by one daughter, Barbara Beckett and her husband, Sam, of Parkersburg; two granddaughters, Laurie Miller of Sandyville and Donna Allen of Belleville; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Ralph Barnes of Parkersburg and Clyde Barnes of Vienna.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ellodean Criss Barnes; two sisters; and one brother.
Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home of south Parkersburg, with the Rev. Larry Dale officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today.
