| Goldie G. Cox, 93, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Monday, January 12, 2004, in Roane General Hospital, Spencer.
She was born May 3, 1910 in Roane County, a daughter of the late Alford Clinton and Rosie Florence Harper Rhodes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard R. Cox; one son, Harold J. Cox; seven brothers, Hermie, Rome, Dayton, Burton, Delbert, Estil and Esten Rhodes; two sisters, Elsie Harris and Almy Rhodes.
Mrs. Cox was a homemaker and member of the Wolfe Valley Church, Wolfe Creek.
Survivors include seven sons, Mayford Cox of Pinch, Robert Cox of and Roy Cox both of Bucyrus, Ohio, Raymond Cox, Edward Cox, Ernest Cox and Richard Cox all of Gandeeville; three daughters, Rita McKown of Charleston, Alice Cox and Lorraine Cox both of Gandeeville; one sister, Altha Pritt of Charleston; 20 grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted Thursday, January 15 at 11 a.m. at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer. Burial will be in Ferrell Cemetery, Vicars Ridge.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
