The Calhoun Commission reviewed grant applications at Monday's meeting and
prepared a list of grant requests to the Budget Digest, according to commissioner
Larry McCallister, who was elected president for 2004.
Among the grant applications, a boat dock near Wayne Underwood Field, a
walking trail at Wayne Underwood Field, a Criminal Justice grant to improve
courthouse security and lighting, improvements to the courthouse including new
windows, a change of scope for $1500 from the industrial park to the NYA
building and a grant application for shelters and bleachers for Wayne Underwood
Field.
Requests are being made to the Budget Digest for completion money for the
proposed 911 center, county park showers and rest rooms, paving for the county
park, improvements for the Mt. Zion Community Park and funds for upgrades to
computer systems.
The commission set February dates for the Board of Equalization and Review.
A re-scheduling has been made to learn more about an alternative sentencing
program being implemented by Wood County.
An agreement was signed for continued services with the Little Kanawha Area Development Corporation.
