Fred L. Morningstar, 79, of Parkersburg died Dec. 20, 2003, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He is the son of well-known regional musician Mike Morningstar.
He was born in Wheeling, a son of the late John A. Morningstar and Minnie Morningstar Johnson. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Emogene Harbin Morningstar; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Donna of Cox's Mill, Mark and Carol of White Sulphur Springs and Steven and Debbie of Friendly; a sister, Ruth Long of Houston, Texas; two brothers, James Johnson of Elizabeth and Ronald Johnson and his wife, Wanda, of Parkersburg; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; an aunt, Roberta Bosley of Parkersburg; and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Ben Morningstar.
There will be no funeral service. He was a Human Gift Registry Donor to WVU Hospital. There will be a memorial celebration from 1-5 p.m. Jan. 3 at the Lubeck Civic Center on Lubeck Road off Route 68 South.
