George Waldo McGill, 90, of Big Springs died April 2, 2001 at
Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 29, 1910 in Ritchie County. He worked for the
Department of Highways and
worked in the oil fields for more than 50 years. He was a member of
Hardman Chapel Church
and was a trustee for Hardman Chapel Cemetery. He was a U.S. Army
Veteran of WW II.
Surviving Mr. McGill are his wife of 64 years, Dessie V. Modesitt
McGill; a daughter and
son-in-law, Lorraine and Larry Long of Harrisville, and two
grandchildren, Lorin and Lori Long.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin F. and Rilda F.
Crites McGill; two brothers,
Earsel McGill and Hobert Lee McGill; three sisters, Anna Gill, Artie
Newbrough and Janie
Ferrell.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Raiguel Funeral Home,
Harrisville. Burial will be in
Hardman Chapel Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. today.
