The Board of Education is expected to adopt what has been a uniform drug policy for many schools in the state related to drug testing of students.
The policy says students who are involved in extra-circular activities, including sports, are subject to random drug testing.
The policy also says a student may be submitted to a drug test at any time, based on reasonable suspicion.
The random tests will be conducted each month.
The policy outlines a step procedure to deal with positive results, from counseling to suspension.
The meeting starts today at 7 p.m. in the central office building.
A presentation will be made by Barbara Fish of the WV Board of Education and Dr. Steve Paine, WV Deputy State Superintendent, in recognition of local schools.
