|Eleven-year-old Levi Stump of Grantsville, son of Neil and Gina-Cano Stump, received serious burns Thursday night following an accident.|
The family says he received 2nd and 3rd degree burns over 8% of his body.
He is in West Penn Burn Center in Pittsburgh.
Family members said he was rescued from the situation by his brother Eli Stump.
They said Eli kept calm, tackled his brother, rolled him in the dirt, and ripped his shirt off.
"He saved his brother's life and sustained burns to his own wrists and fingers," said his mother Gino-Cano Stump, and then putting out a brush fire.
Levi has received initial surgery and is expected to undergo surgery again Tuesday.
"We are humbled and overwhelmed at the love and support directed toward the family," Ms. Stump said.
The Stump family has long been associated with the Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville and Arnoldsburg.
