Baby Raptor rescued and then released to wild

2015

A number of months ago a Calhoun woman called for help, finding a displaced baby raptor on a road.

Spencer resident Karen Denbigh, who is a volunteer with the WV Raptor Rehabilitation Center in Fairmont, came to the county and transported the animal to the center for rehabilitation.

"It not only survived, but grew to maturity, and has been released into the wild, where she belongs," said Denbigh.

"If not for people such as this lady, contacting the center, many raptors would parish."

"Mike Book, of the WV Raptor Rehabilitation Center Center, is to be commended, for spending much, of his life, saving these incredible birds," said Denbigh.
